HORSE-TREKKING DOLOMITI

Accueil

Time seems to have stopped on the chain of Lagorai, among the mountain tops and the green woods of Trentino. Here it is not strange to feel like an explorer, or a cowboy, by riding one of the horses of Ranch dei Lupi. It is Mr Eddy who carries us into this country, sporting and warm atmosphere.

Why did you decide to open a farmhouse?
We opened seven yars ago: I had some riding stables, but I wanted to offer something more to the people who visited it. So I had the idea to open a farm house by adding a restaurant and some rooms.

Your facility is a ranch. Which activities do you carry out with your guests?
We do trekking on the mountains and we also spend two or three days at some refuges where it is possible to eat and spend the night. We have a dozen of very quiet riding horses, perfect for beginners.

Do you carry out any special courses?
We offer our guests the chance to obtain the A licence in equestrian tourism, through a course that allows to ride a horse also on paved streets, in ten classes at the price of 300 Euros, also for beginners.

Which customers enjoy your services linked to horse-riding?
We have customers of all ages coming from all over Italy and from abroad, mostly young people between 20 and 40, who ride or simply want to give it a try. In this case guests have to attend a short ten-minute course in the yard and then we go out into the woods: in the surroundings there are some extremely quiet paths, with no cars. Children too can ride inside the yard, while starting from the age of ten they can also ride outside if they have a little experience.

Any other activities?
Not far from here it is possible to do rafting, while a wellness center is close-by, where people can relax after a walk in the ountains or after a ride, while the municipal swimming pool is just 500 meters from here.

Your facility has some special furniture.
It is a country environment that for the most part uses stone and old wood, salvaged from old cattle sheds and chalets but also from some ancient churches.

Which typical products do you offer?
Our specialties are our handmade sausages (“insaccati”), in fact we have a pig farm, and in general beef and pork meat, and local fruit and vegetables.

What do you love the most of your land?
Nature and greenery. We are far from big cities and also outside the village, and close to a stream. I have grown up here, and  I love the direct contact with nature and with animals.

What characterizes your farmhouse the most?
Undoubtedly its familiar atmosphere: those who arrive immediately do feel comfortable, at home.

What is your greatest satisfaction?
What makes me happy is the handshake with the guests who stayed here, and you can see from their eyes that they are glad.
